Best Book of the Year from Central University

Central University Pondicherry, an eminent educational institution under the auspices of Government of India selected one of my short story collection MARUDAL VARUM (Change shall come) in the year 1990.

I was given the prize on Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday, on 2nd October 1990 at Pondicherry by  Dr.K.Venketsubramaniam, then Vice-Chancellor of the University

Maalan, born in 1950 in Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu, emerged as a literary figure with a penchant for poetry. At the age of 16, he made his debut in the literary world through both poetry and prose. From 1970 to 1985, he contributed numerous short stories and poems in literary journals throughout Tamil Nadu.
