My little workstation at National Library Singapore during my research fellowship

The National Library of Singapore offers to journalists, curators, historians, academics or independent researchers with established records of achievement in their chosen fields the Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship programme, a six-month residential fellowship to research using valuable historical materials, and collections available at the Library.

Research fellows are required to Stay in Singapore  during their Fellowship at the Library. They need to complete a 3,000-word and a 6,000-word paper based on their research findings within three months of the end of their fellowship and send two copies to the National Library Board for archiving.

And they have to give  at least one public presentation, such as a lecture or seminar based on the research to members of the academia and librarians in Singapore, and to members of the public where appropriate

Presenting my findings

I was selected for  the  Lee Kong Chian Research Fellowship for the year 2016  by the National Library Board  in June 2016 to study the literary works of Tamil authors  and to record their voices  on their lives, culture and social progression of the Tamil Diaspora in the 20th Century progression of the Tamil Diaspora in the 20th Century

I am the only Indian and a Tamilian. Exited to learn that an Indian is selected for the first time, local Tamil Newspaper Tamil Murasu carried a write up on me (Tamil Murasu dated 7.5,2017)
